France 2010

France 2010- We have been back a week now after spending two days in Iceland, eleven days in Paris and three in Beaune (Burgundy). It seemed to be three separate trips with each one as captivating as the other. The days and nights were filled with museums, art, jazz, history and food/wine and by renting a small apartment we had a refuge to rest after our exhausting days of exploration.  We would take time to relax over a plate of meats and cheese, fresh bread and a bottle of wine by sitting in our loft while watching the rain pelt the windows that looked across the Seine at Cathedrale Notre- Dame.  After a week we took the train to Beaune where we enjoyed the countryside by biking in the hills and through the vineyards as the harvest was underway. The days both past quickly and slowly as they do whenever one travels but Paris seems to put one only in the “moment” .      Favorites: Sainte-Chapelle, Centre Georges-Pompidou, Louve, Tulleries,L’Orangerie, Orsay, Harry’s New York Bar, Hemingway Bar (Ritz), The Tower….to be honest there really wasn’t anything that wasn’t worth visiting.
