Looks Like A Road Trip

We, Tim (aka…Wally) and myself had planned on spending the weekend climbing in the North Cascades. We drove several hours to the trail head for Liberty Bell and Early Winter Spire only to find clouds and light rain instead of the sun we had hoped for. Standing in the parking lot I suggested to drive on the Vantage for some sport climbing….ok, it would be many more hours on the road but plan b sounded pretty good. We stopped at a delicious taco truck in Chelan, refueled and arrived at Frenchman’s Coulee mid afternoon. Luckily we had enough time to set up camp and climb five routes before the sun set. Once dark set in we ate our salami and cheese, drank a couple of beers, had a cigar accompanied by a small flask of 15 year old scotch. Standing under the Milky Way on a clear star lit night we were treated to the voice of someone singing and strumming a guitar. We stood there under the stars listening to her beautiful voice in the night. We definitely had made the best of the day.
