Rendezvous

I stood at the edge of the viewpoint. High peaks edged the river valley that was the natural passage from northern Saskatchewan to British Columbia, one of the original trade routes through the Canadian Rockies. In the 1800’s Fur Traders and Native Americans would meet at rendezvous, camping and trading. The river glistened in the light and I was taken by a strong déjà vu. This place was part of some familiar faded past memory. I felt the special significance of this ancient gathering spot as I stood there above the cliff. Saskatchewan Crossing, British Columbia, Canada
