The Fan Club

Standing very still, I watched as they walked, waddled before me. The first one standing within a foot or so, as it was followed by another, and then another until the group of six formed a semi-circle around me. They moved their heads back and forth in slow curiosity of this towering giant covered in red rain gear. I turned and very slowly started walking away from my fan club. After ten paces I peered over my shoulder and the group of penguins was following me. They moved in a loose group about six feet behind me as I crested a small mound of brown stained earth. I turned and smiled as they continued to follow. Elephant Point, Antarctica
