The Reef, Australia

As we dropped beneath the surface of the water I cleared my diving mask and looked over at my daughter. I gave her an ok sign and began to move deeper. We stopped our decent above a large school of barracuda that moved in unison, reflecting flashes of silver. We paused and watched as they moved below us. A few more kicks and we left the shallow shelf of corral and hovered over a deep chasm. We hung there suspended as small yellow fish danced around us. I peered down wanting to go deeper, into the inky violet blue. Great Barrier Reef
