We camped below a band of large dunes and the sun quickly began to set. The hot mint tea warmed us as the heat of the desert left and the darkness rolled in. We walked up to the top of the dunes. Our necks rolled back as the stars brightened above us. The guide had jokingly told us that we were staying at the 1000-star hotel. As we looked up, the Milky Way Galaxy unfolded. A gaseous flow of stars, concentrated in the center with arms that spread from one horizon to the next. We stood silent, as the blanket of stars covered us.
